I am hoping to read for a communications, media and culture degree. I find it remarkable, inspiring and a little bit frightening how the media exercise control over our lives, whilst offering rich cultural rewards. I am fascinated by the action and effects of human communications of all kinds and am keen to extend the insight I have gained so far.

My interest in the subject began through my GCSE Media Studies and my knowledge of the subject area has expanded at A-level where I am acquiring analytical skills, helping me unpack and contextualise a wider variety of media forms. My other A-levels are English Language, Sociology, Critical Thinking and Philosophy &Ethics, and these are giving me a broad overview of life and human communications and culture. An example of how these subjects support each other would be studying the marxist concept of hegemony and applying it to religion, media ownership, the high culture/low culture debate in sociology and even the bourgeois emphasis on Standard English.

I&39;ve slowly been gaining practical experience alongside my academic learning. Two years ago, I was lucky enough to get work experience with a television crew on location as a runner. I learnt the value of working as a member of the team in a stressful environment and I gained an understanding of the processes of TV production. I have also been involved in several other media projects, some as coursework and others undertaken independently.Coursework projects have included a magazine for young male teenagers; designing a product and advertising campaign; and producing, directing and presenting a documentary for sixth formers and their parents on the EMA system. As extra-curricular activities, I designed a poster and Internet campaign for one of the school plays and in the absence of any existing school publication, I launched a bimonthly newsletter, aimed at Angley&39;s students. These projects have provided great learning experiences, enabling me to develop print software skills in a creative way.

Other school activities have included, the lead male role in &39;South Pacific&39; and significant roles in &39;Oliver&39; and &39;West Side Story&39; as well as assisting the Performing Arts A-level group perform their comedy show. By playing roles on stage, my confidence has increased and I have learnt to appreciate and learn from the talents of others. I am also a school prefect, which I find satisfying and a great privilege.

In my leisure time I enjoy making films - mostly parodies of various genres. I then edit the films using a programme called Magix Movie Edit Pro. I have also edited on Final Cut Express, which has made an interesting comparison. My next project is to learn Final Cut Pro, and to develop a more effects-driven style. I also like to read, for example, I was inspired by Naomi Klein&39;s book No Logo on the effects of globalization, the commoditisation of our culture and public spaces and how powerful brands have become. I am currently reading Graeme Burton&39;s Media & Society to gain some additional perspective on my A2 media and to prepare myself for my degree.

So far I have enjoyed myself in my studies and hopefully have developed some of the skills and qualities for success in degree-level communications, media and culture studies.

一、學(xué)生宿舍

學(xué)校提供的宿舍一般都是多人間，一層樓是一個(gè)合租的大房間，會(huì)有公共區(qū)域，衛(wèi)浴等也是公用的，高峰期可能會(huì)有點(diǎn)擠，但是更容易交到朋友。

而且大要注意的是，入住一定要嚴(yán)格按照人數(shù)來(lái)，不能夠串住，而且如果順利入住還需要早一點(diǎn)提交申請(qǐng)，晚了的話有可能會(huì)沒有位置。

二、寄宿家庭

寄宿家庭是所有住宿方式中價(jià)格最貴的，因?yàn)樗粌H提供住宿，還會(huì)提供餐飲的服務(wù)，而且還會(huì)對(duì)學(xué)生進(jìn)行生活上的幫助，能夠感受到家庭的溫暖。

而且客觀上還可鍛煉大家的口語(yǔ)，與人的交往也會(huì)更順暢，更容易融入當(dāng)?shù)氐纳睿詮男詢r(jià)比上來(lái)看，還是比較高的，也比較受家長(zhǎng)的歡迎。

三、校外租房

如果個(gè)人的經(jīng)濟(jì)能力足夠的話，可以考慮搬出去住，自己租房的價(jià)格其實(shí)也不會(huì)特別貴，不過(guò)找房源比較耗費(fèi)時(shí)間，因?yàn)閷で笾薪榈膸椭枰馁M(fèi)比較長(zhǎng)的時(shí)間。

專門用來(lái)出租的小單間，一般內(nèi)部的設(shè)施是比較不錯(cuò)的，而且各類家具也齊全，入住非常方便，不過(guò)大家需要自己承擔(dān)水電等的開支。

四、租房須知

大家在找房子的時(shí)候，要盡量的選擇名聲比較好、安全度比較高的地區(qū)，而且要提前了解當(dāng)?shù)氐闹伟矤顩r，千萬(wàn)不要貪便宜而選不了解的房子。

而如果大家選擇合租的話，不管和合租人關(guān)系好不好，都要事先約法三章，將各類事情商量好，看這樣可以盡量避免事后的摩擦。

1.圣彼得堡國(guó)立大學(xué)

圣彼得堡國(guó)立大學(xué)俄羅斯語(yǔ)言文化學(xué)院(Russian Language and Culture Institute )由圣大語(yǔ)言系預(yù)科班、圣彼得堡大學(xué)語(yǔ)言文化中心、圣彼得堡對(duì)外俄語(yǔ)教學(xué)中心等機(jī)構(gòu)整合而成，專門從事俄語(yǔ)教學(xué)。

歷年來(lái)，圣彼得堡國(guó)立大學(xué)對(duì)外俄語(yǔ)教育水平在俄羅斯一直處于第一的位置，學(xué)生的對(duì)外俄語(yǔ)一級(jí)、二級(jí)考試的都是的。學(xué)院可以全年招生(除了暑假7-8月)。

學(xué)生根據(jù)自己的學(xué)習(xí)進(jìn)度安排學(xué)時(shí)。一般零起點(diǎn)的學(xué)生學(xué)滿800學(xué)時(shí)以上，即可參加預(yù)科畢業(yè)考試，如果學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)未滿800學(xué)時(shí)，但是成績(jī)優(yōu)秀，也可以參加畢業(yè)考試。考試在每年6月底7月初舉行。注：圣大語(yǔ)言文化學(xué)院語(yǔ)言班不包含預(yù)科課程。

2 莫斯科國(guó)立大學(xué)

莫斯科國(guó)立大學(xué)國(guó)際教育中心(CIE)是俄羅斯最早開設(shè)語(yǔ)言教育的機(jī)構(gòu)，已有55年的歷史。預(yù)科班分為5個(gè)月、10個(gè)月和15個(gè)月三種，學(xué)生可以根據(jù)自己的語(yǔ)言基礎(chǔ)選擇合適的開課時(shí)間。

5個(gè)月的班開學(xué)時(shí)間為每年2月初，學(xué)生需要有一定得俄語(yǔ)基礎(chǔ)，學(xué)習(xí)4-5個(gè)月以后，參加畢業(yè)考試，可以獲得預(yù)科畢業(yè)證和語(yǔ)言等級(jí)證書。10個(gè)月的班開學(xué)時(shí)間為每年9月，15個(gè)月的班開學(xué)時(shí)間為每年2月，這兩個(gè)半都可以接收俄語(yǔ)零起點(diǎn)的學(xué)生，學(xué)習(xí)期滿后參加畢業(yè)考試，可以獲得預(yù)科畢業(yè)證和語(yǔ)言等級(jí)證書。

3.圣彼得堡國(guó)立理工大學(xué)

圣彼得堡國(guó)立理工大學(xué)(圣技術(shù))國(guó)際教育中心(IIEP)是全俄規(guī)模的語(yǔ)言預(yù)科培訓(xùn)機(jī)構(gòu)，俄羅斯教育與科學(xué)部指定的公費(fèi)學(xué)生語(yǔ)言預(yù)科培訓(xùn)點(diǎn)。

從1965年建立留學(xué)生預(yù)科系到1996年成立IIEP，圣技術(shù)積累了豐富的外國(guó)學(xué)生語(yǔ)言教育經(jīng)驗(yàn)，學(xué)生在這里可以獲得最科學(xué)的語(yǔ)言教育課程，同時(shí)還包括未來(lái)專業(yè)的相關(guān)課程。IIEP的開學(xué)時(shí)間為每年9-10月，開設(shè)商科、理科、工科、文科方向的預(yù)科班。

4.莫斯科國(guó)立汽車公路大學(xué)

莫斯科國(guó)立汽車公路大學(xué)國(guó)際部在俄羅斯有很高的聲譽(yù)，和莫斯科大學(xué)的國(guó)際教育中心齊名，并且是俄羅斯石油天然氣大學(xué)承認(rèn)的校外預(yù)科。

自1960年創(chuàng)建以來(lái)，一直作為俄羅斯教育部的重點(diǎn)語(yǔ)言培訓(xùn)單位，俄羅斯教育部公派生的制定語(yǔ)言學(xué)習(xí)中心。大學(xué)預(yù)科開學(xué)時(shí)間為9-10月(1學(xué)年)和2-3月(1.5學(xué)年)，課程分為經(jīng)濟(jì)管理和理工兩個(gè)方向。
